Born and raised in Texas, I come from a large family of educators, and knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age. I have spent 6 years in the classroom teaching math, and 2 years working as a curriculum specialist. I've taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and Algebra 1. I love teaching, and getting the chance to be artistic whenever possible, word walls was a way to combine both loves.

About 8 years ago, the district where I was teaching mandated that we have word walls in our classroom due to all the research surrounding their effectiveness. I began making words for my room and had about 60 words completed that year for 7th grade. I kept adding with each new grade level every year until all the middle school math words were done.  

With the encouragement and support of my family and co-workers, (especially my momma, Becky Atnip, and Cindy Hubbart), I started looking into mass production. Our first appearance was at CAMT in July 2013, and we continue to expand our product line each year. My hope is that Catnip's Word Walls will soon reach out to other states and subjects...
